The Webster County third grade students, in Mrs. Eddierene S. Prather’s reading class, work on personification.  The lesson begins with the teacher explaining personification to the class.  Then the students had to look around the room and pick out non-human objects.  After picking out non-human objects, the students had to give human qualities to the non-human objects.  Next, the teacher reads The Gingerbread Boy by Harriet Ziefert to the class.  While the teacher is reading the story, the students have to listen for examples of personification.  After reading the story to the class, the teacher asks the students for examples of personification that were in the story.  Finally, the students create and illustrate personification posters to present to the class.   The students did a great job on creating and presenting personification posters.

The students in the picture are:

Kayden Hanson, Ty Rowland, Ayden Johnson, Mia Wells, Joseph Durrence, Rylee Hall and Jarel Williams
