Webster County High School Competes in FBLA Region Leadership Conference

On Friday January 12, the Webster County High School chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America organization traveled to Moultrie, GA for the Region 1 Leadership Conference. Mr. Michael Baker chaperoned members who were competing in five events. Of the five events, members received awards for three events.

The team of Destiny Garza, Nadia Carrasco, & Brandon Riggins were awarded 2nd place for their entry in the Broadcast Journalism video category. Nadia Carrasco also received 2nd place in the economics testing competition. She will advance to the State Leadership Conference in Economics. Kimberly Williams earned 1st place in the public speaking competition. Kimberly also advances to the State Leadership Conference in her event.

The State Leadership Conference will be a two day event in Atlanta. The members who place high enough there will go to the National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.

Congratulations to all the members who competed at the FBLA Region 1 Leadership Conference and a special congratulations for the hard work of those who advanced to the next level.
