Mrs. Godwin’s Math Class

The 7th graders enjoyed playing Tic Tac Toe in Mrs. Godwin’s Math class while expanding their knowledge of percents and proportions. To further their understanding of percents, each student was given a tic tac toe board with percent word problems in each box. Students had to read and work the problems discovering the information that they know versus need to know. Ms. Wright’s 2nd grade class at Webster County Elementary School is working on addition. The students completed an addition turkey doubles sheet. The students had a blast decorating and putting their turkey together. Pictured shown is Ms. Wright class holding their turkeys.

The Webster County fourth grade students, in Mrs. Eddierene S. Prather’s reading class, read Who Is Neil Armstrong by Roberta Edwards.  After reading the book, the students took an AR test.  Then the students used a graphic organizer to brainstorm ideas about Neil Armstrong.  Next the students had to use the ideas to write an informational paper.  The students exchanged papers to peer edit.   After going to the computer lab to type the final draft, the students...

The Webster County third grade students, in Mrs. Eddierene S. The 8th graders have been working on graphing in Mrs. Godwin’s Math class while expanding their knowledge of slope, linear equations, and other key terms. To further their understanding of the linear relationship, each student was given handouts to create pages of notes for their Interactive Notebooks and enhance their knowledge of graphing that we have been studying over the past couple of weeks. Senior Class

The senior class from Webster County High School enjoyed a field trip to the annual lecture series held at Georgia Southwestern State University. The seniors listened to Jaha Dukereh, a 2018 Nobel Peace Prize Nominee, speak about her trials and tribulations overcoming female genital mutilation and child marriage in West Africa. Jaha has used her experiences to create a non-profit organization to advocate and provide support for other victims of similar circumstances. These students were inspired...

The Webster County School System invites all parents, the community and business leaders to our Annual Title Parent Meeting on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 6:00 PM in the school’s cafeteria. This will offer all stakeholders the opportunity to learn what it means to be a Title I school. Karaoke Day

In Ms. Beth Blankenship’s Chorus class at Webster County High School, students just enjoyed participating in their first Karaoke Day. The students got to choose their own groups and the songs their groups would perform. This once-a-month activity is a way to get students used to singing in front of people and to get them to loosen up some when performing. A very special little boy, Tamir Mars, in Mrs. Beverly’s pre-k class at Webster County School got a very special surprise visit on Tuesday, September 25th by his daddy, Lakelvis Johnson who has been stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he is currently serving in the Army. Lakelvis is a Staff Sergeant and has been serving our country for six years now. Mrs. Beverly taught Lakelvis in the first grade at Webster County and is now teaching his son, Tamir. Students in Mrs. Clarice Prather's class enjoy using the interactive math skill builder program, Mobymax.com. The interactive program provides the students with opportunities to engage their diverse learning styles through exploration with technology. Recently, the students used Mobymax math skill builder to improve their fluency in the areas of place value, properties of operations, as well as the relationship between, addition and subtraction within 1000.

Mr. Wilder's 9th Grade Biology Class

Mr. Wilder's 9th grade Biology class got off to a busy start to the school year, learning about plant and animal cells. Students were taught the structure of each type of cell, and were given an in-class project to highlight the differences and similarities between the two, as well as the function of its parts. This class has many more exciting topics coming up for the rest of the school year!
