Ms. Sydney and Ms. Shawn's Class

Ms. Sydney and Ms. Shawn's class went to the Albany mall to see Santa. They also learned about how to order food for themselves and handle their own money to pay. They have been working on using the dollar up strategy in the classroom to prepare. Each student ordered their own food at Chikfila and then counted the amount they needed by rounding up to the nearest dollar.They handed their money to the cashier and then got their change back. They had so much fun!

Mr. Bailey’s 7th Grade Social Studies Classes

Mr. Bailey’s 7th Grade Social Studies classes are exploring the many countries of Southwest Asia. Students are working cooperatively researching and gathering information to present their findings to the class. The students also utilize the smart board for a quick map skill competition game. Students pictured are Madison Holbrook and Shaniyah Stevens.

“The Gingerbread Man”

The students in Miss. Wright’s 2nd grade class are reading the different versions of the gingerbread man. They wrote compared/contrast different stories and wrote summaries. The students really enjoyed reading about the gingerbread man and creating a craft. After discussing each story, the class wrote a summary over the gingerbread man and made a gingerbread man craft. Ms. Selma Mosley’s Media Arts Class

Students in Ms. Selma Mosley’s Media Arts Class at Webster County Schools are getting ready for Christmas. Students have been creating different things that remind them of Christmas such as Christmas trees, reindeers, ornaments, and Santa Claus. Students in First Grade enjoyed painting Christmas trees. Webster’s Students Learn about HOPE Scholarship/Grant and Dual Enrollment

Katie Minich, K12 Outreach Representative, with the Georgia Student Finance Commission met with Webster County High School students and parents on Monday, November 11, 2019. Students in grades 8-12 learned about HOPE Scholarship/Grant, Zell Miller Scholarship, and Dual Enrollment requirements.   Georgia’s Dual Enrollment Program is available to Georgia students in grades 9-12 enrolled in a public school, private school, or home-study program operated pursuant to O.C.G.A. 20-2-690...

WEBSTER’S APPLY TO COLLEGE

Webster County High School’s senior class received hands-on assistance applying to college during the school’s Georgia Apply to College event held Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Ms. Sydney and Ms. Shawn’s class visited Marks Melon Patch in November. We learned about the pumpkin life cycle and all of the different types of pumpkins. We also compared pumpkin sizes and made predictions. We had so much fun!

Mrs. Scott’s Government Class

Students in Mrs. Scott’s government class wrapped up their study of The Bill of Rights with a special activity designed by fellow classmate, Zykeria Thornton. Ms. Thornton planned and executed a lesson detailing the specific freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
