NOTICE

The Webster County School System invites all parents, the community and business leaders to our Annual Title Parent Meeting on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 6:00 PM in the school’s cafeteria. This will offer all stakeholders the opportunity to learn what it means to be a Title I school. Other topics to be discussed include how we spend our Federal money, our School Improvement Plan, Title I requirements, our Designation status, Parent Involvement opportunities, and School-Parent Compacts....

Sha’Miya Jones

Sha’Miya Jones, a student in Ms. Selma Mosley’s Kindergarten Class at Webster County Elementary School is using a puzzle to reinforce her alphabets. Sha’Miya had to match the letter to the word that began with each letter of the alphabet.  

Karaoke Day

In Ms. Beth Blankenship’s Chorus class at Webster County High School, students just enjoyed participating in their first Karaoke Day. The students got to choose their own groups and the songs their groups would perform. This once-a-month activity is a way to get students used to singing in front of people and to get them to loosen up some when performing. A very special little boy, Tamir Mars, in Mrs. Beverly’s pre-k class at Webster County School got a very special surprise visit on Tuesday, September 25th by his daddy, Lakelvis Johnson who has been stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he is currently serving in the Army. Lakelvis is a Staff Sergeant and has been serving our country for six years now. Mrs. Beverly taught Lakelvis in the first grade at Webster County and is now teaching his son, Tamir. Mrs. Clarice Prather's Class

Students in Mrs. Clarice Prather's class enjoy using the interactive math skill builder program, Mobymax.com. The interactive program provides the students with opportunities to engage their diverse learning styles through exploration with technology. Recently, the students used Mobymax math skill builder to improve their fluency in the areas of place value, properties of operations, as well as the relationship between, addition and subtraction within 1000.

Mr. Wilder's 9th Grade Biology Class

Mr. Wilder's 9th grade Biology class got off to a busy start to the school year, learning about plant and animal cells. Students were taught the structure of each type of cell, and were given an in-class project to highlight the differences and similarities between the two, as well as the function of its parts. This class has many more exciting topics coming up for the rest of the school year!

Mrs. Katha Scott's Government Class

Students in Mrs. Katha Scott's government class at Webster County High School started off the school year with a research project. Mrs. Susan Stephens’ Class

Webster County first graders in Mrs. Susan Stephens’ class enjoy using math manipulatives. The hands -on learning provides opportunity for the students to engage their various learning styles through exploration and by collaborating with peers in a group setting. Recently, they used dominoes to explore part-part-whole word problems during a math lesson.

Webster County High School Students Receive Class Rings

Webster County High School students recently gathered for the highly anticipated class ring ceremony. Mr. Carson Bowen, Herff Jones representative, presented class rings to members of the junior class. Class rings began as a tradition at West Point Military Academy in 1835, when students started wearing them to show their unity and as a remembrance of the time they spent at the Academy. Webster County School Faculty and Staff would like to thank the Howard Center for Women’s Health for the delicious lunch. Amber Cummings from the center spoke to all the teachers about women’s health. The teachers enjoyed the lunch provided by Olive Garden. A Michael Kors purse was given away and the lucky winner was Maxine Jordan.
