Mr. Wilder’s Chemistry Classes

Mr. Wilder’s Chemistry classes at Webster County High School were busy during the month of February learning about chemical reactions. Students had the opportunity to use chemical reactions to create propulsion. Using test tubes, yeast, peroxide, glucose solutions, and balloons the students measured each solution and monitored the test tubes for the chemical reaction. Ultimately one of their solutions created enough carbon dioxide as a result of the chemical reaction to blow up a balloon.   Picture...

TALL TALES

The Webster County third grade students, in Mrs. Eddierene S. Prather’s reading class, have been studying tall tales.  The students had to work in small groups to create a tall tale booklet.  The booklet had to have an illustrated cover/title page, at least three examples of exaggeration, and each page in the booklet had to be illustrated.  The students enjoyed creating and illustrating the tall tale booklets.  The students did an excellent creating, illustrating, and...

Reagan McCullough and Bo Howard

Reagan McCullough and Bo Howard, students in Ms Selma Mosley-Crawford’s Kindergarten class at Webster County Elementary School have learned about the way things move.  Reagan and Bo are sorting pictures according to whether the object has to be pushed or pulled in order to move it.  Students have enjoyed learning about motion.

Mrs. Katha Scott's Economics Class

Students in Mrs. Katha Scott's economics class at Webster County High School have been preparing for the Georgia Milestones End-Of-Course Assessment in Economics/Business/Free Enterprise. As part of their review, students were divided into groups and tasked with answering test-prep questions concerning macroeconomics. “Polygon Creatures”

Ms. Wright’s 2nd grade class is learning about Polygons. The students learned that a polygon can be identified by its edges and vertices. They created a creature made of polygons. 5th Grade Career Development in Government & Public Administration.

Mrs. Pamela Alridge’s 5th grade students at Webster County learned about occupations in Government & Public Administration during advisement this month.  They discussed the responsibilities of the five different groups of the military. 2017-2018 Webster County STAR Student

As I am sure this is just one of the many awards that this young lady will receive throughout her life, there is no more deserving student for the 2017-2018 Webster County STAR Student that Kaylee Hughes. She is a young lady that I look at as one of my own children. John Wooden once said “If you are afraid to fail, you will never do the things you are capable of doing.”  As one that is never lacking for confidence, she has met every challenge thrown at her without fear of failure....

2018 WCS Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Sallie Minick has been chosen as the 2018 Webster County Schools Teacher of the Year. "ADD ME ON SNAPCHAT"

Students at Webster County Middle School are now able to interact with their Math Teacher, Mrs. Godwin, by using a tool that all kids love... Snapchat. Mrs. Godwin has created a Snapchat account where she posts photo-reminders of homework assignments. She also answers questions that the students have about their homework. Lots of students use Snapchat, so this is a great way to help her students stay on top of their work.
