Ten Little Puppies

Students in Mrs. Jackson’s Kindergarten Class at Webster County are starting to read books! Our class read the book Ten Little Puppies. This book rhymed, had repeating lines and counted backwards. These are all reading strategies that help us to become better readers. After reading the story together, some students did so well, that I let them go to other classes and read the book!  Excellent Job!!

Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Webster County fifth graders in Mrs. Eddierene S. Prather’s reading class orally read Who Was Martin Luther King, Jr.   by Bonner Bader.   While the story was being read, the students had to record information about Martin Luther King, Jr.  The information was used to write an informational paper about Martin Luther King, Jr. The students had to present the paper to the class. After reading the book, the students had to take an Accelerated Reading test.   ...

Ms. Mosley’s Sixth Grade English Language Arts Classes

Ms. Mosley’s sixth grade English Language Arts classes are learning to use reflexive and intensive pronoun correctly.  The Students contrasted and compared reflexive and intensive pronouns, and they wrote an example of a reflexive and intensive pronoun in their sourcebook.  They choose one to write on the smart board.

Webster County Junior and Senior Beta Clubs Induct New Members

The Webster County Junior and Senior Beta Clubs inducted 23 new members on January 20, 2017, before the middle and high school students and a large crowd of parents in the school’s gym. Hannah Pendergrass, President of the Senior Beta Club, presided over the Key Induction ceremony  for the new members. First grade students in Mrs. Deidre Sterling’s class have enjoyed learning about clouds.  They made 3D clouds and drew pictures of Cumulus, Stratus and Cirrus clouds.

Precious Greene, a student in Mrs. Selma Mosley-Crawford’s Kindergarten class, at Webster County Elementary School uses the Smartboard to make ten. Students had to fill in the missing ladybug to make a set of ten.  The students really enjoyed this activity.

4th and 5th grade students in Mrs. Greene’s ELA class spent time this week reading articles, writing responses to questions, and watching Martin Luther King, Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech.  At the end of the week, students were given the opportunity to write their own “I Have a Dream” speech.   Shown here is Kavion Solomon sharing his speech with his classmates.  All students did a good job thinking about the issues we currently face and addressing...

Students in Mrs. Katha Scott's economics class at Webster County High School have been working in groups to complete a series of practice questions for the Georgia Milestones Economics EOC Assessment.  Students competed against their own classmates as well as two other economics classes taught this semester.

Outstanding Webster County Middle Math Students

For the 2nd quarter, several students have been very successful in math.  These students have worked hard and achieved the most Accelerated Math objectives for their grade level. 6th Grader:  Alexander Mejia-Lopez with 91 objectives,  7th Grader:  Jason Durham with 65 objectives, and Mylaysha Reliford  with 101 math objectives.   Great Job!

Mrs. Lana Bennett’s Science Class

3rd graders, Morgan Bentley(left) and Ni’Kearrian Walker (right), pretended to be paleontologists in Mrs. Lana Bennett’s science class at Webster Elementary.  After digging up random dinosaur bones, students had to determine how to best fit them together to construct their prehistoric creature.  This was a fun activity that included lots of laughs as we discovered this job wasn’t as easy as we thought.  It resulted in some very interesting dinosaur skeletons!   ...

Mrs. Beverly’s pre-k class of Webster County School enjoyed a fun day of “Show and Tell”.  We all brought our favorite toy we got for Christmas.  Then we all got to share our toys with each other.  We had a very fun day.
