"Bullying"

Mrs. Gilley visited the 6th grade Study Skills classes to discuss "Bullying".  The various types of bullying, bullying statistics, and bullying prevention were presented to students on a slide show.  Students learned that bullying is a problem all over the world and has lasting effects.  They crumpled up a sheet of paper and were challenged to straighten it back out smoothly without any wrinkles showing.  No student could successfully complete that challenge.  Students...

Mrs. Marcia Roberts, Media Specialist for Webster County Schools would like to announce that Webster County Schools will host a Scholastic Book Fair November 8th though 10th in the schools’ Media Center. Mr. James McCullough’s Science Class

8th graders in Mr. James McCullough’s science class at Webster County Middle School have been discussing the differences between chemical and physical properties and chemical and physical changes. To give students changes that they could “see”, the class went outside and performed several experiments and then discussed whether the resulting product went through a chemical or physical change. Webster Students Participate in the SAT

Webster County High School students participated in the SAT Saturday, November 4, 2017.  The SAT is a standardized test published by the College Board widely used for college/university admissions. Webster County High School’s Student Council and FBLA

Webster County High School’s Student Council and FBLA have teamed up to host their annual blood drive, under the leadership of advisors Mrs. Katha Scott and Mr. Michael Baker, respectively.  The blood drive is scheduled for November 30, 2017 and will run from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Webster County School lunch room. Mr. Wilder’s Physics Class

Mr. Wilder’s Physics class at Webster County High School wrapped up the first 9 weeks by completing an experiment to demonstrate Newton’s Laws of Motions.  These students created a car propelled by rubber bands and placed various objects on the car to visually demonstrate how mass affects acceleration.  They learned that the more mass the vehicle carries, the slower it accelerates.  This project was a great way for the students to collaborate, and to use problem solving...

“Let’s Go Fishing”

Ms. Wright’s 2nd grade class at Webster County Elementary School is going fishing. As students were working in centers, they had to catch fish in the pond. While fishing, the students had to find hard “g” words and soft “g” words and place them into two separate buckets. The students had a blast completing this activity. Mrs. Katha Scott's U.S. History Class

Students in Mrs. Katha Scott's U.S. History class at Webster County High School have been studying the events leading up to the American Revolution.  After researching assigned topics, students worked in pairs to create a Power Point slide show that analyzed the causes the war.  These projects were then presented to their classmates.

Mr. Wilder’s Chemistry Class

Mr. Wilder’s Chemistry class at Webster County High School started the school year off with a lab activity to demonstrate controlled experiments.  The students created a hypothesis, completed the lab procedure, analyzed the data, and made a conclusion about their findings.  This lab was a great way to engage the students, as well as show them how the outcome of the experiment can change when certain variables in the experiment are controlled.

Students in Mrs. Katha Scott's economics class at Webster County High School have been learning about the fundamental concepts of the course.  Students worked to create a plan for a new business in which they detailed the factors of production and how they would be used.  These plans were turned into a poster display and presented to their peers.

Students in Ms Selma Mosley-Crawford’s Kindergarten Class at Webster County Elementary  School have been learning about Citizenship.  The students have been studying what makes a good citizen.   They are excited to know that they are all good citizens when they follow the rules.
